Things We Care About: Cavett Kids Foundation

Here at Riverwind, you know we have a lot of fun. We’re all about games, music, food and exciting events.

One thing you may not know is that we care about our community. A lot. We invest in community partnerships that we consider extremely important. One of those partnerships is with Cavett Kids.

Cavett Kids Foundation

If you’re unfamiliar with the Cavett Kids Foundation, this group does some really significant work with local children with life-threatening illnesses. Their motto is “where illness does not define the child,” which we absolutely love. After working closely with several of the children in their program throughout the years, we can say with confidence that these kids are strong, confident individuals who are so much more than just an illness.

Cavett Kids makes a difference in the lives of at least 12,000 children and their families through five annual camps. The foundation’s mission is to develop character, coping and connection for kids battling life-threatening illnesses like leukemia, heart disease, cystic fibrosis and Crohn’s disease, among others.

Our Partnership

Each year, we host the Cavett Kids Camp Challenge, which helps raise money for kids to go to Camp Cavett, a worthwhile opportunity for kids to build connections to others like them and foster a support system.

Last year, our Riverwind Golf Classic raised more than $48,000 for the Cavett Kids Foundation. Fundraisers like this one help keep their camps running and assist the foundation in providing irreplaceable resources for some pretty special kids.

Continuing this partnership is so important to us. We get to help our neighbors and have a lot of fun at the same time.
