The Value of Giving Back

The Value of Giving Back

Riverwind enjoys giving back to our community. In June, we held a golf tournament to help raise funds for both Norman Public Schools and an organization called Cavett Kids Foundation.

Cavett Kids is a foundation created to help develop character, coping and connection for kids battling life-threatening illnesses. We met some amazing youngsters who have fought life-threatening illnesses and who use their time at Camp Cavett to build character, coping and connection skills.

Ty, a 16-year-old with spina bifida notes how camp “taught me better ways to cope with your illness and how to go out and be a positive force in the world.”

Alana, another 16-year-old who suffers from an esophageal leak and a heart condition adores Camp Cavett. She says, “Camp has allowed me to connect with kids my age and have this extra family that really just understands me and gets me. I really appreciate that, and I owe my whole life to that foundation.

This year, the Riverwind Golf Tournament raised over $68,000 for Norman Public Schools and Cavett Kids Foundation. Join us by showing your support for Norman Public Schools and Camp Cavett. Be a part of giving some young folks and unforgettable summer!
