As we look forward to the new year, everyone around us seems to be setting lofty goals and creating resolutions. But here at Riverwind, we’re doing what we’ve always done — giving back to the community around us, and we would love for you to join us.
It’s no secret that we love the state of Oklahoma and our community. It’s a part of our DNA. We’re not wasting any time this year, we’re jumping right into serving our community through hosting our first blood drive of 2018 on Jan. 3.
The Oklahoma Blood Institute will be holding a blood drive with us on Wednesday, Jan. 3, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the Showplace Theatre. Each blood donation can save the lives of up to three patients. Each blood donor will receive a free, limited edition, long-sleeved t-shirt and $10 of bonus play! Sounds like a pretty great opportunity to us!
We will also be hosting The Alan Parsons Live Project in concert on Jan. 12. The concert will benefit the S.H.I.N.E. Foundation, and you can buy tickets today. S.H.I.N.E. — an acronym for Start Helping Impacted Neighborhoods Everywhere — is the home of two programs that benefit the Sooner State in amazing ways. One of their programs helps those who have been convicted of non-violent crimes by giving them exposure to honest, productive work with positive outcomes. Their other program allows students from all walks of life earn service hours through hard work.
And that’s just the first two weeks of the year! We’re looking forward to an awesome year of helping our community in meaningful ways. We hope to see you on Jan. 3 or 12 for one of these awesome events!
