You know how much fun it is. Your friends tell you all about the fun they have. Let’s be honest; with more than 2800 electronic and table games across 200,000 square feet of gaming floor, who wouldn’t have fun at Riverwind?

The problem is, do you know how to play? What do all those lights mean? How do I decide on a betting denomination? What’s a progressive and how does it work?

We know walking in for the first time can be a little daunting, so we’ve put together a list of words that would be good to know to make your experience the best it can be!

Riverwinner – A jackpot winner at Riverwind Casino. You can check out our Instagram and Facebook pages to see many of our latest Riverwinners!

Wild Card – Riverwind’s Player’s Club Card. This card can be used to earn monthly direct mail offers, discounts on the Riverwind Hotel, inclusion to promotional events year-round and more. Tier up to premier and elite status for even more benefits like hotel upgrades, comped meals at our restaurants and personalized host services!

Chips – A small, disc-shaped piece representing a denomination of money. Used to bet a sum of money in table games.

Buy-In – The entrance fee of a game or tournament, often determining the total prize pool. The bigger the buy-in, the better the payout will be!

Cage – The location of our friendly cashiers.

Jackpot – A large win, often on progressive electronic games. It’s normal to see a lot of these here at Riverwind!

Progressive – An electronic game in which the jackpot increases each time the game is played and the jackpot is not won. Once the jackpot is won, the jackpot resets to a predetermined value. You can see a list of our progressives updated daily on our Facebook page.

House – The venue at which you are playing. In this case, Riverwind is the House.

Hot – When a game is hot, it’s paying out big.

Wide Area Progressive – A progressive electronic game that is connected to the same game within a region, resulting in more plays and often a larger jackpot.

Ante – A stake put up by a player in table games before receiving cards to play.
