What a summer it’s been. The food, the fun and the entertainment were all taken to the next level at the 2018 Beats & Bites Music and Food Truck Festival! We had beautiful weather for each of our four events and saw many new and familiar faces! If you missed out on any of the festivities, here’s a few highlights from Beats & Bites 2018.
Beats & Bites kicked off with a bang when red dirt legends Jason Boland and The Stragglers took to the stage, drawing thousands of fans. A record 26 food trucks offered up delicious treats like Coit’s root beer, gyros from Let’s Do Greek and fantastic desserts from That Pie Place. Our May event also saw the first of our Beats & Bites free play giveaways! Individuals that took a photo of the event and shared it on social media with the hashtag #BeatsBites2018 had an opportunity to win a share of $1,000 in Riverwind free play. We even had an appearance from the Thunder Girls and Rumble!
Our second installment of Beats & Bites 2018 was another memorable evening as we were serenaded all night long by rock n’ roll legends The Romantics and local favorite Kristen Stehr. Twenty-six more food trucks set up in our west parking lot and the inflatable games in the kids section were (literally) hopping! We even had so much success with our free play giveaway in May that we gave away another $1,000!
The wine was flowing from Canadian River Winery and Woods & Waters Winery and we celebrated Independence Day in our third installment of Beats & Bites 2018! We were entertained by one of our regulars in the River Lounge, Stars, and country superstars Restless Heart on the Beats & Bites stage. The kiddos enjoyed face painting from Fancy Faces and no one left hungry as 25 food trucks served up their tasty treats.
We closed the door on another chapter of Beats & Bites with perhaps the most memorable event yet! The Jason Young Band kicked off the night and warmed up a crowd of thousands before country music legend Mark Chesnutt rocked the stage all evening! We enjoyed a cool breeze and an unforgettable fireworks show to close out the final edition of Beats & Bites 2018.
