The Best of 2017

The Best of 2017

This year was filled with exciting promotions, meaningful philanthropy events and wonderful entertainment for everyone. 2017 was a hit because of awesome guests like you who made Riverwind a part of your year. We’re all about games, music, food and exciting events, and we hope you were able to join us for all of the fun. As we look back on a wonderful year here at Riverwind, we wanted to share a few of our favorite things from 2017.

This past summer, Beats & Bites returned for its second year. We had a great time jamming out with The Swon Brothers, Pat Green and Wade Bowen. The local food trucks that came out to feed the crowds had everything from tacos, pizza, barbecue, sweet treats and more!

Hopefully you made it out for our incredible concerts this year. We had genres for every music lover. From country musicians like Aaron Lewis, Gary Allan and Jennifer Nettles, to rock ‘n’ roll legend Styx, the Showplace Theatre was filled with outstanding entertainment. Comedians Ron White and Wayne Brady also each had performances this year and had their audiences laughing the entire time.

We all know Oklahoma weather can be unpredictable, and in October, Riverwind experienced the ups and downs of it firsthand. We appreciate everyone who continued to support us following the tornado during this time of repairs. The Showplace Theatre was up and running quickly and we are looking forward to closing out 2017 with the Disco Fever 70s NYE Party. We hope to see you there!

Giving back is highly valued at Riverwind and we believe it’s important to show our support to our community. In 2017, Riverwind hosted a golf classic to help raise money for the Norman Public Schools Foundation and Cavett Kids. Our partnership with the Oklahoma Blood Institute is also very important to us and in 2017, we continued to participate in community blood drives. We also collected poinsettias that were delivered as part of our Meals on Wheels partnership.

We hope that you made wonderful memories at Riverwind in 2017 – we sure did! Now that 2017 is coming to an end, it’s time to look forward to 2018. Travis LeDoyt will kick off the concerts in 2018 with a performance on Jan. 6. Keep an eye out for new entertainment and promotions coming in the new year and make sure to plan a trip to Riverwind soon!
