Another Summer is in the Books

Another Summer is in the Books

Another summer has come and gone, and it was another smashing success for Oklahoma City’s biggest music and food truck festival! We had some exciting new updates to Beats & Bites this year, most notably adding COOP Ale Works as our presenting sponsor. This partnership allowed us to make the event even bigger and better in 2019, with more food trucks, bigger entertainment acts and ice-cold craft beer to enjoy.

For the first time in Beats & Bites history, we enjoyed four lovely evenings with sunshine and a light breeze. More than 100 food trucks joined us this summer, offering their delightful culinary creations. From BBQ and burgers to Cajun creations and plenty of sweet treats to top it off, there was something to delight the taste buds of everyone that attended.

This summer brought some exciting entertainment acts to the Beats & Bites stage, with dozens of smash hits and chart-topping singles from a handful of country music’s biggest names. We enjoyed Texas staple Kevin Fowler in May, 90’s icon Shenandoah in June, Oklahoma’s-own Cody Canada and the Departed in July and country star John Michael Montgomery in August.

We welcomed more than 5,000 people to each Beats & Bites this summer, including some very special guests from the Oklahoma City Thunder! Kids enjoyed a variety of fun activities in the kid’s zone, including cornhole, Jenga and plenty of larger-than-life inflatables. We even had appearances from the Goldsby Fire Department, who brought out one of their fire trucks for the kiddos to climb up and enjoy.

As we look ahead to 2020, we want to get you in the mix! Check out our feedback form to let us know your favorite part of the event, what you would change and who you’d want to see next summer!

Thousands of friends, free live music and dozens of delicious food options made this summer’s COOP Ale Works Beats & Bites a big-time success. If you just can’t wait for next summer, be sure to check out our upcoming entertainment and join us for a concert (or two) at the Showplace Theatre.
