Get to Know Our Casino Hosts: Kayle H.

When we get a new team member, we always enjoy introducing them to you. We recently sat down with one of our casino hosts, Kayle H., to get to know him a little bit better!

Thanks for sitting down with us today, Kayle! Would you start off by describing your role as a host here at Riverwind?
I am a casino host here at Riverwind Casino. The role of a host is to connect with the patrons and provide a familiar face for the casino. We strive to be the first line of contact for some of our most loyal patrons. As a host we can assist with setting up hotel stays, food comps and even getting tickets to shows at our Showplace Theatre.

How did you get into this role? Was it something you always wanted to do or was it something that found you?
I actually worked in sales and customer service before landing in this position. I did not think I would ever be a casino host. I guess you could say it found me, but I could not be happier about being here.

So, what does a typical day in the life of a host look like?
When I first get to the office, I try to handle any emails from patrons and any ticket requests that I might have. Then I work on any call lists or special projects before spending most of my day on the floor, interacting with patrons and assisting in any way that I can.

What has been your favorite thing about working at Riverwind?
My favorite thing would have to be the environment. Everyone that works here from facility services to management strives to ensure all patrons have a winning experience. When everyone is on the same page working together, it makes the job fun.

What’s been your favorite show that you’ve seen at the Showplace Theatre?
I grew up listening to country music, so I enjoy seeing any of the country artists.

Finally, tell us a few fun facts about yourself!
I enjoy being outdoors and anything sports related. My grandparents have season tickets to OU football games, and I have been going to the games as long as I can remember. Most of my friends would agree that I am the biggest OU football fan they know.
